rapunzel walked around through the snowy woods… she usually takes a break from the tower when gothel was away. suddenly she noticed snow falling from the sky, rapunzel face lit up as she started to dance with the snowflakes, rapunzel has seen it snow from her tower however she could never touch the flakes. she continued to dance when suddenly she sees a shadow hunching on a tree branch watching her…. rapunzel stopped for a moment and looked at the tree where the shadow was sitting “ who’s there” she called out firmly
Jack was out doing is routine, sending snow here and there and starting snowball fights with the kids. It was an ordinary day, nothing too festive or special. He went, sent snow, had fun, no one noticed him, then decided to leave - simple as that. After spending quite some time in the Kingdom, the winter spirit had decided to take a leave to the forest. He hadn’t quite finished covering the forest with snow just yet. While letting snow flakes cascade down gently to the ground, he noticed something golden amongst the frozen debris. With interest surfacing, he breached the proximity just enough to decipher what the peculiar brightly colored - person?
Landing on one of the branches of a tree, he allowed himself to study the stranger dance amidst his freshly fabricated snow. Though he found it odd, he nevertheless still found it endearing to some degree. Like someone had finally appreciated what he has done. However the smile on his lips faltered upon hearing her talk, replaced with absolute perplexity as he turned to look if anyone else was around. Seeing no one else there but him and the girl, Jack let out a small snort. “I think this girl might be crazy,” the winter spirit stated, unaware that the girl could see him.
The soft frozen snow had settled in nicely, leaving the place in a chilly winter day. Small puffs of air turning into white vaporing smoke, oversized overalls, and the aroma of freshly brewed tea settled in the air. It was evident that winter had come to the Kingdom of Corona and the citizens couldn’t be more excited for the upcoming season. Children of all ages have been anticipating for the snow, mostly because they had longed to play in a game of snowball.
With a gesture of an approving nod, the winter spirit left the kingdom and headed to the forest. While his roundabouts to the kingdom were finished, the forest could use some more newly patch of snow. There were dashes of the frosted flakes that could be noticed but not enough cover the entire forest. Truthfully, he had always preferred seeing the trees coated with snow, they appeared better that way to him – like some kind of ornament dangling down the trees.
The travel to the forest did not take long; Jack had gone around letting snow gradually cascade down as he flew just a couple of feet above the trees. Busy with adding snow here and there, he hadn’t noticed the protruding tower just a mile from him. Cerulean hues glanced up, finally perceiving the tower. Curiosity and perplexity were written across his face as he inched in closer. Since when was this here? Jack mused, feeling the bubbling interest intensify.
Years of traveling back to Corona to bring snow, one would expect for him to know the very detail of the kingdom. To know all the shortcuts and pathways, where everything is. Apparently, he hadn’t explored the whole kingdom quite yet. Taking his time to circle the strange tower, he noted two things. One, why is it in the middle of nowhere and two, why is there no door?
Scanning up, he finally spotted the window seventy feet above him. Weird, he concluded as he flew up. Assuming that no one in their right mind would even consider calling this tower a home, he let his cold fingers touch the wooden frame then meticulously pushing it ajar before letting himself in. Jack skimmed through the room, noting the paintings across the ceilings and books on the shelves. There were freshly made cookies on the counter and newly made candles.
“So I guess someone does live here…” busy nodding at his statement, he didn’t detect the coming flying pan that aimed at his head. Before he could react to it, everything had gone black.
He awoke with a massive headache just minutes after everything went pitch black. Groaning, he grumbled a few curses beneath his voice before opening his eyes only to meet a girl holding a frying pan. “What…” he croaked out while giving a manifesting bafflement expression. What on earth is happening.
- When Jack was alive, he had dreamt of finding a wife and settling down - to become a good father and husband. Now he realizes that what he dreamt of doing is never going to happen because everyone eventually dies, everyone eventually leaves while he stays immortal.
That makes me wonder. If Jack ever DID have children with someone.. would they be mortal, immortal, or some strange combination of the two?
That’s a really interesting question… How would you combine immortality with mortality, though? Maybe their children would live a long time, much longer than normal humans, but still die in the end?
au where jack is a minor greek god, a child of persephone and hades (because persephone’s being in the underworld was what caused winter) and his kid ends up being a demigod
Kids married at like 13 in those days so Jack could have been married. (But it seems like he wasn’t or else he wouldn’t have been running around with his little sister.)
Actually, girls married at the age of 13-15 due to the fact that they expected girls to die much sooner than guys. Guys, however, can marry at the age of 20+ during that time, they didn’t particularly need to marry at a young age because they aren’t the ones giving birth. Though I understand your point, I had always thought that Jack didn’t get married at the age of 17 because he still wanted to take care of his little sister. He wanted to perhaps watch her grow until it’s her time to get married. Then, and only then, will he find himself a wife but that doesn’t take out the fact that he might’ve wanted a wife and kids of his own. He was just conflicted whether to choose his own family or start a family of his own. Either that or he hadn’t had time to actually look for the perfect girl, simply because he’s so busy with taking care of his sister.
“Oh it’s not your fault, sweetie.”
(excuse that sound it’s just my heart shattering)

How long has it been since he’s gone for a visit in the North Pole? Two days? Two weeks? Far too long, quite honestly. It wasn’t like he had any objection of going, being the winter spirit had just made his schedule a bit more hectic. There were occasions when he had the urge to just pop up to say hello, maybe have a sip of hot chocolate or eggnog while he’s there. Of course he could never really just show up uninvited.
Though he had denied any thought of apprehension, deep down he knew that he was anxious. Being the newest of the guardian, he wasn’t quite sure whether North would welcome his unannounced visit. In addition to that was the fact that he’s gotten so used to being alone, he wasn’t certain how to ask if he could drop by. Consequently when North had requested for them to all come in a small gathering; he had almost jumped in sheer joy.
With the wind picking up it’s pace, he felt the change of the atmosphere turning into this crisp cold fresh air that he’s grown so accustomed to. The snow haired spirit’s travel was not long, it took approximately fifteen minutes at most prior to his influx. Once he got there, he was greeted by the elves dressed in their usual getup. They instructed him to follow, gesturing the way inside. Jack, letting a small haughty smirk etch across his lips, followed in suit while glancing at his surroundings. It had never occurred to him that North’s factory had enough capacity to fit almost thousands of people. Just the outside itself was overwhelming, what more if he were to explore the whole vicinity?
The smell of eggnog mixed with freshly baked cookies greeted him upon entering the gigantic mahogany frame. As they sauntered to where all the other guardians were located, the adolescent couldn’t help but feel a tad excited. Granted his first visit to the North Pole was not the most ideal, it took a couple of visits for him to essentially grow accustomed to the place. Similar to his indifference to North’s factory, it also took time for him to copiously like his fellow guardians. Perhaps the reason why he truly missed them was because of the sole fact that they were technically his first friends.
Finally reaching their destination, the winter spirit took a glance around the room. The first familiar spirit that he noticed was Sandy, he had that usual welcoming smile across his lips and a wave as a gesture of greeting. Returning the courtesy, the snow haired spirit waved back before diverting his cerulean hues to Bunny. They have a personal rivalry between them but they were nevertheless still friends. With an acknowledging nod, Jack let out a smirk.
Lastly, he noticed Tooth talking animatedly to one of her fairies. Reckoning that it’s a good idea to give a little surprise, Jack gradually tiptoed his way to her, meticulously endeavoring not to get detected by her fairies. Breaching a close proximity, he conjured tiny bits of snow at his fingertips before letting them trace down Tooth’s wing, to her back.
“Hi Tooth!” Jack greeted in between his small chuckles.
